Habitat

I want to share with my potential families the importance of their environment and how it is implemented and the reasons behind it.  Some of these are interesting and good to knopw.
Family

It is important to discuss the rules and guidelines of pet ownership to everyone in the family. Everyone must be on the same plan to train the puppy to desired behaviors and eliminate negative behavior.  It is important to know my pups are child aware and CAT savy. They have had encounters with both. Please assess whether every child in your home is capable of loving and touching your new puppy appropriately.

Environment

The pups are first held in a whelping box for the convenience of the mother to come and go as she needs to.  When the pups' eyes are open, and they scoot around they have to be held in a containment area for their own safety. Left is the bedding, must be flat, as the puppies need to access moms' milk and any height in the bedding can hinder that. In the middle of the gated area I Keep the food and water, the mother may access this, so it is important to let her drink and eat at her leisure, the taste will transfer to the pup's milk and help them when the milk is gone, and they are eating solids. At their right side of the containment area is the puppy pads. must be changed as soon as they are soiled. this includes the blankets as the pups will urinate as they need to.

Health

After the birth of the pups, I keep fresh food and water available for the Dame. She rests with an unrelenting duty to nurse. I take this time to include vitamin C and give the second worming. I do the first worming while the pups are in utero, through the mother. After the pups' eyes open, I introduce them to Science Diet puppy food. I warm it soaking it into what we breeders call gruel, it is mixed with milk replacer at first then water that keeps them hydrated and full. I recommend Science Diet puppy food, small bites. It is important to know the better your dog food is the better the absorption process in the bowl of the puppy, the smaller the size of the poop.
